Tamihi Creek Dec 15th (Lower FSR BYPass trail )

The FSR Bypass trail that goes from the enterance of the campsite to the far end were the main FSR turns up the hill is where we rode today.

DO NOT ENTER this trail unless you have the following, WINCH *** (very good one because you will use it lots), extra lengths of recovery strap to get extra length out of your winch, shovel, tall boots, a second quad along with you with all the same stuff and lastly 4X4 on your quad !!! (THat is a must even with the winch, trust me there.0

My son Geoff and I went for a nice little ride today, we were having a ball then came to a mudhole with no way around it called "BIG FATTY" well there was about 100ft of trail that was nasty and since ONLY I had a winch it was really fun. Just over 1 hour later we were both through, covered head to toe in mud, you could not tell what our quads were they were so caked with peanut butter like mud. We took a few seconds to breath a sigh of relief and headed forward. No more nasty surprises and we spent 3.5 hours as a whole and had fun in the mud and SNOW.

All of Geoff's GoPro video is bad from the snow flakes and mud on the lense but we will try to pull a short video or photos from it to post.

FUN DAY!!

Patience guys, Jr has to unload GoPro, and sift through 3.5 hrs of video to find good clips and pictures before I can post them.

PATIENCE, I know its hard because you want to see the mud and carnage but it will be worth it.

Check back late Monday.

Here is the first of 3 videos. (Sorry about the quality it was snowing hard and we had hit lots of mud so lens was a bit dirty.)

This is after we are out of the mud hole and Jr walked back to show the hole and all the mud.

Video 2 shows us getting stuck and working our way out of it with lots of winching!

When the camera lens gets muddy, it's muddy!
