clutch does not feel correct
I am sure this question has been posted before but I could not find much on it or I do not understand the search feature very well.
My clutch is not a very smooth at all. Seems to catch at a certain point on the revolution of the motor. I know this is not a very good explanation but I just does not seem to have a good friction zone to it like my other bikes do. Have never had a clutch or gearbox apart so I am looking for some newbie advice here. I have adjusted the clutch so I start getting to the friction zone about mid ways on the clutch lever. Can let all the way out on the lever and it does not slip at all either. Just kinda jerky feeling in that friction zone.

What kind of oil do you have in it?

It could be something as simple as lubricating the clutch cable. Mine seemed a little coarse until I lubed the cable, which made it noticeably smoother.

That could very well be also. Something simple to try.
I was just checking on the oil status as a wet clutch will respond poorly to low oil oil conditions or wrong type. Allen

Well to tell you the truth we just got it together tonight and I have not put the rotella 15 w 40 in it yet. I did lube the cables with silicone spray. I will change the oil in it first thing in the morning. I only had it running tonight for about 15 minutes. Just long enough to start it and adjust the clutch cable.

Try changing the oil and then run it some. I have noticed poor clutch operation when I failed to changed the oil for a long time. The oil from the factory is not really intended for use in running, but more for shipping the bike and protecting it against corrosion.

Get the transport oil and a decent engine oil and see if that helps. It may also breakin some after a few miles of riding.

I've noticed something simular. Letting out the (lubed) clutch from a stop, I start rolling, then click, the gears really ingage. The effect is a jerky start, not smooth. I'm using CrappyTire oil for four stroke motorcycles. I'm sure that if I pulled the clutch, striped it down and reasembled it, the problem would go away. But it hasn't become a problem yet, so I ride. I plan on doing a lot of fixing over winter. If the engine is as strong in October as it is now, I'm going to be buying my little 150cc some shiny baubles, and I'll start showing her some real TLC.

My Roketa felt that same way, like the clutch would almost engage then vibrate the rest of the way in. It turned out to be the rear sprocket bolts were loose and letting the sprocket jerk around. I tightened them down, and it's smooth as butter now. Check those out.
