Hello from Maryland!

Hello everyone,

My name is Justin and I've been riding motorcycles for over 15 years (13 on the road). So after getting a new bike this year, my wife has come to me wanting to get herself a bike of her own. She has never really ridden a motorcycle before (but rode pedal bikes many times) and she has finally opened up to wanting to ride along with me. Since shes so inexperienced, she wanted to only get something cheap and small to start out on. She also wanted to get something that was an automatic. In the process of looking around at various bikes and scooters, we were informed about the existence of these affordable motorbikes that had smaller cc motors but with automatic transmissions. Fast forward to today and we are currently waiting on the arrival of her new Vitacci Falcon 250cc. Looking forward to sharing and learning more on this new venture for both of us, and May the 4th be with you!

Thanks and she did look at a Lifan but it was a manual. That was the Lifan KPR-200, which is a pretty sweet lookin little bike. To be honest she probably would have went with that if it came as an automatic.

The Falcon does have the gy6. Good reliable engine. Parts are easy to find too.

Welcome to here! You are the first member to report owning the bike, so we all eagerly await your reports and pictures.

Qlink had two versions of a bike that was a cruiser style bike. They rebadged CF Moto's bikes, so one could buy the bike at a Qlink dealer or from someone who sold CF Moto. They had some issues and had a recall, but for the most part, people liked them.

I recall they were only around for a short period....but overall I thought they made for a good looking bike.... Auto trans motorcycles probably will never be a real niche success - not when there are some fantastic scooters out there. My Honda Silver wing is a 600 and is a very comfortable ride.

Honda tried for decades to make an automatic bike. Every time it was a flop (except the auto/semiauto clutch in their small singles). Then when they made my bike they decided to use it as a test bed for a dual clutch transmissiong (DSG). While my particular bike was a sales flop (for a few reasons) the DCT was a success. Lightning fast shifts, no real power loss vs. a traditional manual, about 14lbs more weight total thanks to the dual clutch pack and oil system, and minimal extra maintenance (oil filter for DCT system). I have ridden the DCT version of my bike, and I couldn't tell the difference. In manual mode its like riding a bike with a quick shifter. They even offered a foot shifter kit for it for people that either prefer foot shifting, or that have mobility issues. There are 3 VFR1200 owners on my facebook group with DCTY bikes that have a disability in either hand or foot.

My bike was a bit of a sales flop for a few reasons, but the DCT was actually not one of them. It worked so well that Honda put it in their 700cc twin, covering the NC, CTX, NM4 and rather funky X-ADV (check it out if you have a minute, its kind of cool). It is now in the Africa Twin, and rumor has it soon to be offered in their 500cc twin. Honda announced plans to offer a DCT in most of their line up over the next few years.

Anyway, sorry to Hijack your thread lol. Who knows, in a couple of years if she wants to upgrade to a bigger bike one of the DCT Hondas might be right up her alley.
