Secondary air injection "EGR" plug

So I removed the air injection on the side of the engine head, because it was causing back firing with my new "catless" exhaust.

Instead of making a block-off plate, I took the risky move and tapped a thread for a M12 x 1.5 bolt. There a lot of metal shavings making the thread, I used a shopvac about every turn of the thread. The aluminum head is very soft expect shavings even when tightening a bolt.

I got several bolts to try. If the anodized red is too much I can always spray some high temp black primer on it. Let me know what you guys think!

A stainless pipe plug just came in, this might be the winner here. Can't wait to try it.

I have flat steel plates for this task.
Or you can cut the pipe n weld the hole or make a plate

Interesting solution! I never thought of tapping the hole.

Be careful. I have heard of people shredding the rear tire from all the added power. With all the weight reduction and power, the front wheel becomes useless.

I made a blockoff plate from the iron crate the Hawk came in for my TT250 head, and put 3/8 rubber plug from the HW Store. Cost was probably 12 cents. Cheap bike gets cheap solutions LOL
