There was one guy recently who had several problems with his UM DSF200, and his dealer or UM wasn't taking care of him. I had thought they were good bikes, especially being Chinese, as I have seen them at our local dealer, and the 3 year warranty, but the member gave me second thoughts. (I hope he, or someone else chimes in)

I don't know if you have considered the Qlink XF200 (motard) or XP200 (enduro)? The XF200 has a small, loyal following now, and is built by Qingqi, who OEM for Suzuki's DR200se. You are essentially getting a (near) half-priced Suzuki DR200. Personally, I like the motard version, but would consider the enduro version.

Be careful as the DTF is the off-road enduro (no turn signals, and off-road tires, and other street stuff missing) vs the DSF which is fully street legal in 50 states (but actually 49 because California no longer plates them )

The people who tell you the bikes are junk as getting there info from where?

The UM is suppose to be a good bike. I think the models with the suzuki based engine are espicially good, but you would need to decide if double the typical china bike price is worth it.

I would at this time go for one of the hi-bird 250 bikes, but I also could care less about the warranty and am not afraid to have to work on my bike.

I the warranty makes you feel comfortable then its up to you.

$2700 seems alittle steep, but if the dealer actually honors the warranty and provides good service then it may be a good deal.

Again I would take the money and buy 2 hibirds and keep one as a backup bike if the first breaks down.

My bro-in-law has the UM DTF enduro. I rode it and was REALLY impressed with it. Excellent quality and good power. Was very strong for a 200cc. Made me wish I had a street legal enduro.
