First ride with Roger's WR450F!
Beautiful day today and Roger joined me for a ride.
We picked up his WR from Andy's shop today. With the valves adjusted and a new spark plug and a surgically clean carb it runs great! Andy has his Ducati 999 on static display at the shop for the winter :-) The WR is an excellent bike. It has about the same HP as my YZF but much mellower delivery. The chassis is as controlled and cushy as my KLX. It feels light, hardly heavier than my racebike, but with a battery and a starter. FastDoc loves it. Beautiful desert scenery. Watching the world go by. The hill Roger biffed on. His knee after the biff :-(

Rock rash:-(
That hill was a b%$#h. Steep and very loose and rocky. Baseball to bowling ball sized, imbedded and free rolling. Worse than that, they are basalt/volcanic. They tend to be cuboidal and angular, and sharp.

Beautiful machine. My buddy has the WR250F, and I make similar comments about it. It's such a nice bike that I don't find myself wishing for another 200cc.

I hope that wasn't Roger's bad knee.
That's a very nice motorcycle. I also agree with Weld. For tight, technical riding in the mountains, I have plenty of power with my CRF250X. However, riding in more open terrain, or in the sand, I can imagine the extra power might be very nice.

The 450 has very little weight penalty over a 250. Indeed it weighs a little less than my KLX.
It is his bad knee but he's OK. just a little sore and swollen today but not bad. Next ride he will use my knee protectors. I don't need them now as my ridiing pants are armored.
