alternative air filter mod

this is a quick post for anyone who wants to keep their stock airbox but doesnt want to run the stock airfilter. so simple fix is to use the stock filter but moddify it's material all you need is air filter foamhttps://www.amazon.com/Uni-Filter-65-PPI-Green-Fine/dp/B000ONZT5E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1542908796&sr=8-3&keywords=air+filter+foam
some silicone gasket
and a razor blade. end result a foam filter thats oilable and reusable.

Don't forget about the Foam Filter Oil... not only does it help filter out slightly smaller particles (compared to a dry 65 ppi foam filter), but it also helps keep the filter from "crumbling" apart over the years of (ab)use

Interesting DIY. I bet that foam flows way easier than the paper filter.

it does i felt a notably difference in the throttle response and a almost unnoticeable amount on top end. i chose to do this because like many others i had water problems due to rain and puddles so bad so that the stock filter sucked water and paper down into the engine oil found some filter material caught in the screen on my very first oil change owning the bike so not wanting to go the trash can mod route i talked to my dad who was a pro enduro rider and came up with this simple mod.
