Hi Guys,

Came across this seller:

Wondering if anyone recognizes these products. I have the opportunity to buy a used, larger quad which has their name on the gas tank, but not dealing direct with them... It is having some 'issues' ..obviously the price has to be right but wondering it here is any history with these models.

Some look like a few Gio's, other looks like Tao Tao's to me.

Any thoughts?

Nice looking machines; a lot like the Beast, but with some suspension improvements. No way would I buy the water-cooled 200 without identifying the engine. Also, why liquid cool something so small?

The 250 utility looks good. Is that the one you're after?

Yes, may go look at it tomorrow.(250 utility style)

Apparently the owners are not mechanically gifted and cannot get it to run right. Sounds to me like the typical carb clean out/float issue so common on these things.

Although I've heard some horror stories about these types of machines with non stop issues. I've been okay with the gio's nothing too major but reading on CL there's been a seller around selling real junk machines with missing bolts in the engines and such.

If I can negotiate a reasonable price based on this I may have myself a new toy/project.. otherwise I will pass.

Here is how it looks. Seat looks like an issue to me, typical they never seem to go on right.

Front racks not bolted on they tell me. Just resting there.

Apparently they've only run it for a couple hours, since they can't get it to work right and don't want to spend any more money on it.

It looks like the gas tank cover plastic is unbolted so that the seat will not line up. You are probably correct in that the carb is plugged or not setup properly. Probably a bargain in the making right there.

Seller just told me 'someone else coming tonight' and she'd let me know tomorrow.. been trying to get directions to come see it for two days.. I find that annoying, so I might just tell her to piss off now.

I'd guess that the plastic could be massaged back into place. The colours are hideous.

The front suspension looks good from the photo, and the racks would be handy. I bet it would push snow, too.

Yes but it seems I'm back to the drawing board. I got an email to come look at it, then 10 minutes later another, saying it was sold, so sorry.

Bummer really, but obviously not meant to be. I will continue to keep looking for the deals..

You're better off finding a quad with a known parts source anyway. John has lots of stuff in stock.

Got the CDI for my daughters mini beast today. Thinking of going for a Double Double and doing some fiddlin'...

There is a used Gio Bad Boy out in the 'wack, they want too much money for it in my opinion.. got me eye on that too.

I did see a old Yammy for sale tonight as well, cheap but it looks a bit rough..
