Gio 50cc Dirt bike

newbie

just bought one of these bikes for my son today.

It will not idle. it just shuts off. I have not made any adjustments. Any recomendations?

Also where do you change the oil on these bikes. Is it a gas oil mix??

They run on straight gas. The oil plug will be on the bottom of the engine. Will see if I can find a pic. Otherwise just look up an xr50 honda. Same spot.

Idle. You should have a screw on the upper right of the carb. Turn it in to raise the idle.

Do you have a pic? I believe that Gio sold two-stroke quads and dirt bikes, and those required premix.

WARNING WILL ROBINSON:

That's a 2 stroke and requires premix. I don't know the ratio but 24-32:1 would be safe.

There is no oil to change.

There should be an idle screw set into the side of the carb. It is likely the only screw.

These little bikes are tempermental. Sorry to say I'm not a big fan of them.
