Hello! New member

Hey everyone, I'm Phillip. I live in Ga, I work for a power sports dealer for the "big 4" I've recently gotten into the Chinese off road vehicles and found the forum. I figured I would join to learn and help if possible. I currently have 4 Chinese vehicles, a Coolster 110 atv, a Kazumi 110 atv, an SSR 110 pit bike, and an Apollo DB99 125 bike. So far I've had some issues with these since they have been sitting but I am working those out and have 3 out of 4 running. I have about $1400 in all of them including the replacement parts I have purchased. I'm waiting on a few parts to arrive but once they do I should have all 4 going and the kids and I are going to have a ball! I was discouraged from buying these as I work with the Japanese brands but for less than the cost of a used Honda I got all 4 of these and am quite happy. I'm glad to see that there is a community out here for these brands. Glad to be a member

Welcome!

You will often find people are wary of the Chinese made bikes, and to be fair some of the stuff people will say can be true, especially of older ones. They are not without faults due to cheap parts or poor quality control. They generally have it where it counts though, and often times you can find a way to upgrade some things with genuine parts from another brand for cheap, or do your own quality control to fix issues.

My Hawk 250 has been a great bike once I sorted it out, and I use it as almost a daily rider/city commuter over my big expensive Honda. It hasn't been perfect, sure, but after sorting out some issues, it has given me 1900 miles of road use in the maybe 6 months of actual riding time in the 10 months I have owned it. Even my more critical buddies have shut up lol.

Yep, I've seen both sides. We had some come in for tires and things like that at the shop and the brake adjusters or even the axles would just snap off because they were so poorly made and I've heard that parts are a nightmare but, now that I have these I can say that I've seen decent quality, nothing fancy but not junk and parts are MUCH easier to obtain that the normal metric stuff. If I had Honda's then I would need the year, model, etc with these as long as I have the engine size all of the parts will work. I really like that about them.

That, and parts availability and sourcing is much easier with a forum like this one. Sure, you may not be able to hop on by the local parts counter and get some things, but they can be ordered and shipped in as a worst case scenario, and often it is still very cheap. I ordered in rotors and pads for my Hawk through Taobao, and all costs included - $50, for both rotors and the pads. The distributor wants almost that much for one rotor, so it was worth the 3 week wait to get it, and now I have them on hand when I will eventually need them.
