Howdy All!!

Hi!

I'm Falkon45 from Savannah, Ga. (sorry, i suck at introductions)

Anyway, I'm an avid ride and tinkerer, and have been wanting one of these chinese bikes to play with since before I started riding (2 years ago). I currently own a 2017 KTM RC390 (converting to track bike), 2018 Yamaha MT-10 (the "daily") and a project (aka, never working) 2000 kawasaki ZX-7R.

I was looking for a pocket bike for my youngest kid, and came across the Hawk 250s. Investigating those more, i found the Lifan KMP200, and decided that's the bike I want. I've been threatening to pull the trigger on it for a few days, and I think i might soon. I just can't justify having another bike. I'm making excuses, though. lol.

Anyway, hope to hear and see ideas from you guys while I'm here.

Welcome aboard! I always like the KPM200. The Hawk is a tall bike so hope he has long legs. lol The KPM200 would probably be a better bike for a shorter person. Venom Motorsports will be the best dealer to buy from hands down. These guys will stand behind what they sell. https://www.venommotorsportsusa.com/...31395903701094

Thanks Jerry!! Well, the kid is gonna get a pocketket bike. He's only 6. The other one is for me. Lol. I can probably goad my 16 year old into riding, if he likes the kmp. And, I can use it to teach a couple friends how to ride also.

And thanks for the heads up on venom. That's where I found it. I was looking for cheaper places, but after shipping, they ended up higher priced. Lol. I am looking forward to the bike, though. Already found an ehaust for it. Need to look into how the EFI is controlled. I can probably get a rapidbike to work with it. Of course, after it's here, I'm also going to look into if I can fit a ktm engine into the frame. Lol. 40+ HP on that thing would be fun... And frightening.

Cheaper is not always the best option when it comes to these bikes. They got some pretty shady characters out there. As others will tell you. Dealers like Venom, CSC, Brozz250.com and Powersports max are first class. Venom is a sponsor of this site. If you do buy from Venom members will get $50 off if you use the JERRYHAWK250 discount code. I'm about to order another bike form them myself. Best part is i got the wifes approval.

Hahahahaahaha.

That's awesome!!! I don't have to worry about that. But, I have lots of project cars, and too many motorcycle for one person.

And you're right, cheaper isn't always better. I've told that to my mom every time I have to fix or replace something she got for cheap. Lol.

I bit the bullet and bought the KPM200. Man, I'm excited now. I can't wait to put it through it's paces. I've looked up decent tires already. I bought pirelli Diablo TDs for the ktm, and it still has new Bridgestones on it right now. Lol. They're too big for the lifan.

Anyone know what brake pads for on it? I'm pretty sure I'm gonna find the brakes limits very quickly. I did on my MT-10 the first day. I'm also going to try and figure a tail tidy and seat cowl, so it looks like a proper cafe racer.

Anyone know what brake pads it takes

Awesome! What color did you get? We have a member on here that did the rear fender delete and came out great. In fact a video of his bike is on Venom's web site. Here's the full thread on his bike. http://www.chinariders.net/showthrea...t=25471&page=5

Awesome!!! I got it in Blue. I like it a little more than the black.

I need to dig around a find those pictures. I have a few Ideas, and might do the hugger/fender that bolts to the swingarm. That'll hold the licence plate also. Looking at the swingarm, it seems similar to the ninja 250/300/400, so that gives me something to look at. I also found some Galfer pads that are similar shaped to the lifan pads. I'm just trying to get some things in hand to verify. Might stop by cycle gear, and see what they have on the shelf that similar also.

I might cannibalize more parts off the ZX-7R and compare what might fit on the KPM. I have stainless brake lines just sitting around.

Haha. I saw that too. I'm still waiting in shipping info, but I got the starter manual and some other info.

If so, I'm happy, because I really want to ride this thing. I plan to daily it. The mt-10 is just way too thirsty for me to commute on, and the ktm in in pieces because I'm doing valve retainers and head gasket.

For a daily driver these little bikes are perfect. I take mine to work every chance i get. The 70+ MPG is way easier on the wallet than filling up the Ram 1500. lol The KPM200 should get close to 100 mpg i would think. I rode a MT-10. Way too much power for a daily driver. I would get into too much trouble with it. lol The MT-07 was a little tamer.

Hahaha. Yeah, the MT-10 is definitely a test of moderation. On the KTM, I could be full throttle up to third, and not be at unreasonable speeds. The day I got the MT-10 I hit every bit of 150. And I will say, I hit that speed regularly, thanks to long stretches of I-95 and I-16 here in GA. I need something to allow me to feel like I'm a hooning wild child, but keeping me well within the legal limits. Lol.

I have a track weekend this weekend. I'm taking the mt-10 to that, and probably not riding it again for another week.
