Question My Bashan brozz 250 recon is not getting any spark

Hello, so my Brozz 250 shut off on me a couple of months ago, the reason, no spark. I replaced the ignition coil, and cdi but still no spark. Then, I replaced the stator, and it started a couple of times then died and wouldn't start. Battery holds charge, and it turns over just doesn't run. I replaced the engine hoping that would work, and it did for a good two starts, but died randomly on my first ride and wouldn't start again. Now the motorcycle has a new engine, new cdi, new ignition coil, and new spark plug. The motorcycle turns over but isn't getting any spark. I think it's shorting out somewhere but I don't know where to go from here. Any feedback on what my next steps should be would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

It's possible you have a faulty kill switch that is killing the spark. To test and rule that out there is a black and white wire going to the CDI. Remove the B/W wire and see if it starts.

Does yours have the alarm system. We've had other members that had issue with the alarm system killing spark. Somewhere on this forum there is information how to remove the alarm system.

What year is your Recon? I understand the 2022s don't have the alarm any more.

Black and white wire disconnect

--JerryHawk250-- so I disconnected the black and white wire on the cdi and tried starting it. It turns over but doesn't run still.

--TominMO-- my recon is a 2020, and there's that little black box that I'm able to lock and unlock the bike and electric start the bike with. Is that the box your talking about? I am going to disconnect the black and white wire from there as well and see if that does the trick.

I don't know zip about Brozzes. IIRC I remember reading about issues with the alarm system, and people were disconnecting it on their own. Then the factory decided to get rid of it too.

Nice to see you are all in on this repair Jonny5 ,I don’t think I have ever seen someone replace an engine because of lost spark ,that’s hardcore right there ! .
Anyways ,I am not feeling well enough to really get into your wiring troubles ,but if all you did was unplug the black box ,I am pretty sure you would be leaving some circuits open that would need to be dealt with .Do a search for Brozz alarm removal on this site ,pretty sure there should be some info around to help you .
Good Luck !

Check post 10 from Jeffrey.

Your original engine is probably OK. This sounds like an electrical issue, not a mechanical issue. Maybe you can sell the original engine to recoup some of the expense of the new engine.

I'm guessing the new engine was sent by PeaceSports.. i recall a convo when i first bought my Brozz and asked about parts and potential issues and Jeff had mentioned he will keep sending parts until resolution and gave an example of a customer that had an issue and after a few parts trials just sent a whole new engine..

A lot of small engine coils have a ground wire that when touched to ground will kill the engine. Follow that wire. Maybe first look at all the ground wires. Also bypass the ignition switch (hot wire) to always on. Coil wire can also go to ground instead of the spark plug if it's cracked. May not be actually touching the plug in the boot. Use a spark checker.

There is a kill wire on the CDI that can be disconnected and also check the brake switches. Won't crank without holding the brakes.

Thumbs Up It's running!!! You guys rock!

--I got it guys! Thanks for all the advice. It was the little black box on top. I disconnected all of the wires except for the black and white cable. Thanks Jeff!! Thanks Clash 168cc!! Thanks tknj99!! Thanks TominMO!! Thanks JerryHawk250!!
--So I just have one more question, I left the bike on for about 30mins and then turned the bike off and tried to turn the bike on again but the battery was still dead. Does this mean I burned out the stator and should change that out? Or should I just charge the battery?

After you charge the battery and reconnect... Start the bike and check the charging system by putting a voltmeter across the battery. Rev it a bit and if it doesn't show above 13 Volts, the charging system is weak (should be close to 14 volts or more). 14.5 is normal when running (1500 or more rpm).
