Lifan Parts Nirvana?

Has anyone seen this before? If everything they have listed is indeed available I'll need to pick myself up off the floor . . .

If anything the diagrams will come in handy.

Prices seem to be reasonable as well.

I agree, I like the exploded views of the wheel hubs and such. I'm just thinking of a part I need to my bike . . . .
Speaking of parts . . .

When did Oakley stop making hand grips????? My kingdom for a blue/white set of B1Bs :(

Maybe I'm crazy, but I just placed an order with Metric Parts HQ. 8O

My Zongshen Sierra 200GY-2 has an 18-inch front wheel, and I wish to convert it to a 21-inch wheel. I purchased a 21-inch alloy rim, and for several weeks I have been looking for 21-inch spokes to fit my front hub.

Among others, I contacted a Zongshen dealer in South Africa. We corresponded via email, and he told me that the Lifan 200GY-5 front spokes would fit my Zong's front hub. A Lifan motorcycle was for sale, sitting on display on a local sidewalk; I examined the front spokes. Indeed, they seemed identical to my Zong's front spokes, only longer. Therefore, I went shopping for Lifan front spokes, but I could not obtain them; until now (I hope).

I just submitted an order for two sets of Lifan 200GY-5 front spokes. The total cost was $10.72. 8O I was not charged anything for shipping. :? I payed via PayPal, so I can dispute the charges if something goes awry.

Now the plot thickens! PayPal informed me that my payment was sent to Bekah Bee Photography, a company located in North Texas. 8O

http://bekahbee.com/

Metric Parts HQ sent me to a confirmation page which stated, "Your order has been successfully processed! Your products will arrive at their destination within 2-5 working days." I also received a receipt, and an email from PayPal, both confirming my purchase.

Now we will see what happens. 8) If worse comes to worst, I should get at least $10.72 worth of entertainment from this purchase. I have volunteered to be first to check out this merchant; wish me luck.

I just received a receipt, by email, from Metric Parts HQ. Everything was listed correctly:

Products
------------------------------------------------------
2 x 20 - Spoke set (inside) (T24.020) = $5.36
2 x 21 - Spoke set (outside) (T24.021) = $5.36

Sub-Total: $10.72
Total: $10.72

Let's see what happens. 8)

Thanks for taking the chance Spud. Should know in a few days.

On the grips. I don't think my kingdom is worth that. Maybe there is some knockoffs made in China.

I laughed when I saw those grips. 3 sets for 454? I'll take 2 hits of whatever they are smoking. I guess if you were a .com millionaire and was restoring an old RodgerD it might be worth it, but 454 is just a tad under 1/2 what I paid for the entire motorcycle. Classic . ..

Are you sure when they say "spoke set" they aren't talking about 1 spoke + 1 nipple rather than a whole set of spokes?

Yikes! 8O I assumed a “spoke set” was a complete set of spokes! I will immediately send them an email asking them to clarify this matter.

I got a reply to my email; you were correct, Q. Apparently the price quoted on the website was for one spoke, and one spoke nipple. I guess the old adage is true: “If something seems too good to be true, it's probably too good to be true.”

However, since the parts diagram and description on their website was easily misinterpreted, the folks at Metric Parts HQ are going to honor the price quoted for an entire spoke set! They offered me the option to either cancel my order, or pay an addition $4.80 to cover the added shipping costs. I readily agreed to the latter option. Therefore, I am going to receive two complete Lifan front spoke sets for $15.52. I am very pleased with the good business practices, and the honorable response from Metric Parts HQ.

Metric Parts HQ called me on the telephone earlier this evening; they said they were going to ship my spokes today. This company gives every indication of being a fair, and legitimate vendor. I will post again when I receive either the spokes, or a shipping confirmation number.

Re: Lifan Parts Nirvana?

I received my UPS tracking number; my Lifan front spokes are on their way to my front door.

Wow, that is great news! I would expect this to come from Lifan, but I'm glad there is a source out there that works. The last time I asked for a parts source from Lifan they gave me the name of some obscure company that had nothing to do with anything parts related. Go figure 8)
