I lucked out with the import paperwork - I have a friend here locally who does import/export stuff. When I mentioned what I was doing he offered to do the forms for $75.00 - it didnt take long for me to say yes to that offer. All I will have to do is pickup the bike from the port. The Chinese will provide the other documents needed for the DMV. I will also have the customs and EPA forms in hand when I visit the DMV here in Florida.

There are two forms one having to do with customs and the other EPA. Because this bike will be over 25 years old the pollution / safety junk wont apply. There are no duties on motorcycles imported from china - even better. If I did it myself it would just mean more chasing around with the paper work. Not an impossble task just time consuming - the friend who does this stuff knows how everything gets filled out right the first time. They do offer a door to door delivery option but this would have added over $500.00 to the shipping cost - they wanted $300.00 just to bring the bike twenty miles from Tampa to my house. If I didnt know someone to do the paperwork I would have done it myself for sure.

I hope you don't mind this question; please ignore it if it puts you in an awkward position.

Is the bike definitely over 25 years old, or is it just sold that way? It looks brand new in the photos, but it could be a respray. Perhaps the vendor that is supplying the bike rebuilds old models for guys like us.
