Here's a great read... http://world.honda.com/history/challenge/1975cg125/ That said, I've had 4 CG motors now, all non-counterbalanced. I'm looking forward to the TT250 to see if there's any discernable difference.

Welcome!
You'll find Wikipedia info on the CG125, and you'll discover that it was never distributed in the US or Canada.

So it being an up scale means there aren’t any performance parts for the engine? ( things like cams, bore kits, etc?)

I know my Q motor (OHC Suzuki-type) had Suzuki cams from "Hot Cams" that would drop right in there were a few past members modding them for power but I've not seen anything like that for the CG motor. Being pushrod, I think a torque cam would be nice. Maybe someone can get a cam and send it to a grinder to have a custom lift and duration set up???

hmm I will have to look in to that, thanks.
assuming the jug is big enough would it be possible to bore it to a true 250 and drop a Honda piston in? |

Honda never made a CG250, only 125 and 150, and those were workhorse engines not designed to make a lot of power. There is only so much you can do with a pushrod engine with a single lobe cam.
The counterbalanced engine is essentially the same as the non counterbalanced engine. Most parts are interchangeable within the same manufacturer but not necessarily between manufacturers. |

oh ok cool. Still I can't leave well enough alone when it comes to modding engines and bikes. ill have to do more research but if there are any known mods besides upgrading to a different 30mm carb would you be so kind as to point me in the proper direction?

Do you know what year and model to order for the Pro Circuit T4? I love the FMF TC2 but am always on the prowl.
