New Tao MC-T07 150cc Scooter Engine dies after 4 or 5 minutes
Received a new Tao Tao MC-T07 150cc scooter for wife. It runs fine for a file then engine goes dead. Attempts to start - zero ignition action. Let it sit for 10 or so minutes and it will start and run fine again.
Suspect an ignition problem but not sure where to start looking. All suggestion / insight would be appreciated. Jim H

Merlin,
Thank you. I have not checked the valves so will try that. I was thinking electrical (CDI, Coil) - as when it dies - it dies suddenly - like a light bulb going out.

Classic stuck float bowl situation. The float valve is not moving to allow fuel into the carb at a normal rate.
When you run the fuel out of the bowl it stops. When you let it sit 10 minutes the bowl refills. It might just be trash blocking the float needle. Now it's time to learn about taking apart Chinese carbs! I recommend Brent over on You-tube at 49ccscoot. He gives very detailed instructions on all matters GY6.
