Looking for a quad now

I’m about to pull the trigger on a Tao Tao Rhino 250 I’m just hoping it’s got the same cult like following as my RPS Hawk. I see they share the same engine family. And I’ve watched every YouTube review I can find. What do you guys think of them are you happy with yours? Or would you have bought something else?

Like all Chinese bikes the Rhino has some quirks. The engines are bulletproof but things like ball joint rubbers, wheel bearings, etc., will need some attention. Its a simple machine and easy to work on. Mine has somewhere around 600 enjoyable hours on it so far. It's my main transportation when I'm boondocking in Arizona every winter.

I kinda figured wheel bearings were shipped kinda greased and any China rubber is half dry rot that’s the norm for these. I didn’t want the GY6 engine and belt transmission cause of all the hills and farm chore hauling. I think the clutch setup will last longer then the belt drive.

I know you said you wouldn't want the GY6 engine and belt drive but I would look into the Raptor 200 if you changed your mind.I bought the Bull 200 going on 3 months ago,I haven't pull anything with it yet, still trying to come up with a better tow hitch, but I don't believe it would have any trouble pulling stuff which is what I plan to do when I get a better hitch.I have a ball mounted on it right now.You will have to make some kind of hitch for the Rhino,it doesn't come with any mount at all.

I have been beating the hell out of my rhino. if I see water or mud I am in it just like a little kid again. the only issues I have had are I lost a bolt from the chain tensioner replacement cost $1.59. that's it after the carb swap and front sprocket swap it has been great.

I have been plowing, towing, mudding, hunting, ice fishing and trail riding with it so far. including a 100-mile poker run where I kept the throttle pinned for hours at 8000+ rpm and still runs great. I am not kidding throttle was pinned wide open for 1-1.5 hours at a time with only a 5 min cooldown in-between stops. I did that for 11 hours that day.

Same here I beat the hell out of my Rhino...I tow some heavy loads up steep river banks (smaller front and larger rear sprocket)..... in, through, and out the creeks. I think you'll find it a very capable farm machine.

Well a Rino is on the way from Q9 powersports. They already called to confirm the order. Might be here by the weekend!! I post some pics when it lands. It’s the first new one for me, I’ve always had mid 80’s basket cases something clean will be nice for a change.

Any updates on towing with the Bull? I'm on the fence with the Bull and Rhino. I like that the Bull comes with a hitch plate. The GY6 is a tough powertrain, but how does it compare to the Rhino for heavy loads and steep hills? Both look like great choices. I would like to pull stuff occasionally or tow a drag around my property. I use a riding mower to do those things now, and it uses a belt drive
