Got the shocks reassembled. I'm pointing to spacers that I created by chopping up some thick tube I had laying around. The spacers are about 1/4" thick and are designed to add a little spring tension to the 40 year old springs. It's an experiment that's much cheaper than buying new shocks. It was easy to reassemble the shocks with the adjusters at the softest setting; hopefully they'll be decent when set to a firmer setting.
