On most carbs the idle mixture screw is on the side near the float bowl, that's why I thought it was under that cap on the side near the idle screw.
When you said to turn it out one and half turns is that from seated or from its current position? Thanks |

From seated position. That is a good starting point. Its where I set mine and didn't have to change it.

Wow! That bike runs great! I'm going to take your advice and do my carb the same way. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks, Bob |

Have you even bothered to try registering the bike? I am annoyed by your dealer offering a measly $20 for damages for a bike they insisted will be a able to get registered. Years ago, and I forget the dealer, a guy had bought a Dongfang bobber and had it sent to New Jersey where it turned into a lawn ornament since he could not register it AND he got a full refund on top of it!
Here is the thread. Read from the first few pages. Member Gardo ordered the Dong Fang which, back in 2011 was not 49 state certified. He ended up with a free bike, and ended up with the Cleveland Cyclewerks bobber which was legal for him. I am just saying that you have some consumer protection laws in New Jersey which should back you up; more so if their email indicated that the Hawk would be fine to ship to you (and the fact that they had alternatives). http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...er-Information edit: The drama starts around page 20 and the resolution starts around 25. There was a company called Scooter Depot which is probably now Superiorpowersports or even Powersportsmax. The Dongfang bobber was just not street legal in Jersey. Member Gardo in the thread had them contact New Jersey, and once they couldn't resolve the issue, they issued him a refund. They were supposed to pick up the bike, but I believe they just wrote it off due to the complications of finding someone to collect a whole, assembled bike. I hope you will fight for yourself if NJ gives you the same runaround.

I'm going to try to register the bike when the paper work arrives, so hopefully I'll know more this week.

Just tried to register my new 2020 Hawk RPS 250 today (10/2/20) and it’s not on NJ’s list of bikes capable of registration. They said I have to submit a request to MVC for it to get approval. They also give you a list of steps required for the request, like; pictures of vin, pics of a rider sitting on bike holding handle bars , pics of NJTSA label, EPA noise emissions label, EPA exhaust emissions label (all of which are supposed to be affixed to the bike). Sadly for me the only thing this bike has on that list is the vin & NHTSA label which aren’t even affixed to bike, they’re stickers....long story short. Don’t think I’ll get the approval needed for plates so I blew $1500 on a bike I can’t use unless it “allowed” and in NJ basically no where is permitted to ride a off road bike.

I haven’t thought of it. But how would I go about registration in another state?
