Doc,
Thanks for posting this, you have really jogged my memory. Years ago I earned my commercial and instrument at he University of Nevada flight school, it was located at Reno-Stead. I recall those winds, they could be blowing from three directions at Stead. The HWFH, wow, I remember flying over Eastern Nevada with an instructor, he asked me if I wanted to fly backwards, I agreed and slowed the plane down, I'm trying to remember, we may have lowered the flaps, It seemed that we were stationary, then I looked down ad could see that we were flying backwards, incredible headwinds. Oh yea, the San Francisco air traffic, challenging is as an understatement! Thanks again for the post, the photos are great.
