zstar 110 hard tostart

hi,I have alitlle zstar 110 cc that will only start when it turns over extremley fast.it has nice spark and gas going to the carb.it will start and run perfect,but shut it off and I still need the booster on 35 amps to start it.would my valaves be a problem? I replaced the carb and it does the same thing.....hot or cold.

It never hurts to set the valves. Plenty of tutorials on Youtube for the XR50, which uses the same setup.

it was the coil.........replaced it and it runs like charm,,,,,,its weird because it had lots of spark,,,,,,,

That is weird. Maybe the wire wasn't properly screwed into one of the ends. If you still have the old one, you can familiarize yourself with it, in case you need to do a trail side repair.

Peel the rubber boot back where the plug wire meets the coil body, and then you can simply unscrew the wire. You'll find a small stud inside the coil that the wire fastens to. The same is true with the other end of the wire.
