Thanks man. I wasn't really going for any look it just kinda
took shape as things went along. I am pretty happy with the
outcome.

I guess I should do a before and after post.

When first assembled and ready to ride...

As it sits now waiting to be ridden...

Thanks to everyone for following my adventure!

Well I have been out on the GY a few times since it was completed.
The first trip I had a nasty squeak that I couldn't locate. Well just
two nights ago I went to a friends house to visit and ran out of gas
as I pulled into his drive. I knew I was screwed as my tank does
not have a reserve. It was getting to be midnight and my friend had
to get up at 4am for work. I didn't bother him and ended up pushing
the bike about a mile and a half to the closest open gas station.
While pushing the bike I was able to locate my squeak. I had the
back brake to tight. A few turns to loosen it a bit and all is well.
I hate drum brakes! Just yesterday my dad finished and returned
a project I asked him to make for me. Wish it had been a day
earlier... :?

Pics...

FYI on drum brakes. The shoes/drums need to wear in and during this process you need to leave your brake a little loose. Otherwise the brakes will heat up and swell causing them to rub and sometimes seize. It is very common on the Russian Ural bikes and these Chinese bikes are no exception. Once the drums and shoes wear in then the drums can be adjusted properly.

slimjim503 - As Katoranger stated they are 33oz. MSR bottles. I bought
them at a local Dick's sporting goods for $13 a piece.

kczukiman - Thanks. I actually started to paint this one Olive green but
changed my mind after having the headlight painted. It did look good I
just thought this may be more durable. Look forward to seeing yours
when it's completed.

mrhyak - Yeah the brakes are worn in. It was from me moving the
connecting rod over the swingarm. I just had it a bit to tight.

VinceDrake - Thanks man. I would still like to get a bigger tank one day.

Thanks again all. I am just happy it is done and I am able to get out
and ride it. I want take my son out so he can ride it some as well. I'll
make sure to get some pics and vid.

Hello all. It's been a while since I've posted here. Many changes in my life in the last year. Wednesday I had to say goodbye to my GY. I needed money to survive. I let it go for $500 and a KAHR P45. I always like getting a new toy whenever I have to let one go. I still have my MZ to ride. Sure hope you all are doing well!
