DongFang DF250RTE
Now that the Hawk 250 is off my list (worried about registration in Colorado) it seems like the DongFang DF250RTE is the answer but I cant find any reviews of it on line? Can anyone tell me if this is a good bike? Any info at all would be great.

You are not going to do better than the HAWK or for a little more money but way better after purchase support the TT250. Are you sure there is a problem with registering the HAWK in Colorado?

No bike for Merlin
Ya I was hoping to buy the Hawk until I read this sent to Ichrisbot from the DMV in Colorado:
"Your request (for title and registration) is being denied for the following reasons: Manufacture must be registered with NHTSA ( the Hawk is not) Copy of NADER label is missing/required" (the Hawk dosent have that label) The Hawk is the perfect bike for me but only if I could ride it on the street. I just noticed that the Dong Fang DF250RTE only has a 1 1/2 gal gas tank and that is close to being a deal breaker so I dont think I will be buying a bike today after all?! Ive been looking for weeks. Bummer Man. |

Why not the TT250? It is not an extreme bunch more money, already has all the upgrades you would need to do to the HAWK and is 50 state legal and has excellent after sale support. No other China bike has any after sale support.

Ya I was just looking at the TT250 but at $2150 shipped it is out of my price range. I took me 2 years of scrimping, missing meals, not buying anything to save enough money to buy the Hawk (not easy to do on a fixed income of $700 a month lol). It would take me another year to be able to afford the TT250. Thanks a lot for your input!

If the TT250 is out of your price range, I'd jump on the Bashan Storm.
How much dirt/street will you be riding? The Storm is set up more as a supermoto. There have been no registration issues with the Storm that I've read.

Sounds good if I could find anyone who sales one? Do you know where I could buy one at a good price? The one place I found that has it want $1950 or more to sale it to me. At that price I could buy a TT250. Thanks

A few places have the Storm 250 but they are listed as 'pre-order items' and I haven't bought from these places personally, ask around or research before you buy please
http://www.apscusa.com/New-2015-Stal...uro_p_627.html http://www.superiorpowersports.com/2...rk250db-08.htm Seems to be about $1,540 - $1,700 right now for the Storm 250... prices seem to go up and down a lot too...

saferwholesale?
I ended up buying a last years ver of a Storm 250 with a year warranty shipped
for $1500.00. The company has a iffy rep but this seemed like my only choice. Wish me luck. |

Tach?
Is there anywhere you can buy a after market tachometer or a new cluster with one for the Storm 250?

I installed an after market tach as there is not many choices to go with. A person will have to modify the dash a bit for placement.
