how many miles on the lifan....
I am looking at getting a lifan 200cc dual sport in the next few days, i found a dealer with 07 models just in and selling them for $849+ delivery charges from his dealership. I was curious to know about how many miles you can expect from a bike like this, and what is recommended break in techniques and beginning maintence schedule?
I have always broken my bikes in how i am going to ride them aka beat the hell out of it and just ride it hard (tends to make the bike have more peak hp overall) Not too familiar with "riding red" so i wanted to see what you all recommended. Thank guys, and i will post pics when i have my red china machine in the garage |

also, what are some common mods besides removing the hideous stickers on these? i read the "TIGHTEN ALL FASTENERS AND APPLY LOCTITE"
but i was curious about other mods that will help the bike be more functional, i plan on using it to commute in the city, i've already looking into a lockable carry trunk for it. Thanks again... lol |

Hey there, welcome to the board. There always seems to be a division between the "Motoman" style of break-in and the factory style. Motoman was the first to document the "ride it like you stole it" method of breaking in a bike.
J.C. Whitney has the best deal on a lockable trunk that I've seen. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...014603/c-10111 There is a link where members of the site have been logging their mileage. http://www.chinariders.net/modules.p...milage+mileage Hope that helps. |

I have over 2700miles on mine and I've ridden it like I stole it from day one. It is the OHC version Zongshen engine though.
You will want to reinforce your rack if you plan to carry anything in a case day in and day out. Mine broke at the weld points on both sides. Dad put a piece of solid bar stock in it and welded it back up for me. It's better than factory now and should never break again. You will also want to find a way to remove the baffles, either drilling or gut it. The exhaust seems to be the real restriction on these bikes. Jason
