2014 SSR xf250

hi guys,

Im new to the China bike world and looking for some help before buying...
I found a new 2014 ssr xf250, 2 miles on it for $3k.

However, before I buy, Im curious about aftermarket parts for it and what kind of brands are interchangeable...

Sooo, im short, a whopping 5'3" and Im looking for some options to lower the bike for my height. (Other than suspension)--maybe 16" rims+tire??

I previously had a Crf 230L that I just sold () that was pretty good height, I had control on and off road.

So in terms of parts, I cant seem to find anything like a step seat that they sell or really an online parts dealer for OEM parts. So im wondering what you guys use (if any) for aftermarket parts instead of OEM parts from a dealer.

Thanks so much!!!

Read the above thread through. I started it, but do not own one, but a few members with XF's have chimed in and are active and can attest to them.

I have sat on one, and can tell it was far higher quality than the run-of-the-mill Chinese enduro, and from what the members who own one have said, it is worth the MSRP; but keep in mind that there are newer ones, not to mention SSR shows new 2018s with a rack and the MSRP is around $3k, so I would definitely deal them down on a '14. But let the members who own one give you detailed answers and suggestions based on their ownership experiences.

Kahli definitely check out the thread Culcune started for info on the bike. I have an xf 250 and I owned an Xf 200 before that. These are great bikes but $3,000 is insane! In my area these bikes usually go for $1,200 to $1,700 used. I got mine new for $2,700 out the door- that included the bike, assembly, documentation, registration, title, license plate, and sales tax. That was a few years ago so that price will be higher now but the MSRP of this bike hasn't gone up much.

About the seat height, the seat has a ton of padding up towards the front so you could definitely shave 1-2 inches there and reshape for the stepped feature. New seats are available for about $10 on Taobao so it's cheap to experiment. Also, with some adjustment to the rear mono-shock you could get the bike to squat down quite a bit with the rider on.

There are some good deals out there. Search around before you buy.

dh is right. Great bikes, way too high a price for a '14.

You'll be hard pressed to find a better CB.
