Hawk rear tire size

I'm buying new tires for my Hawk and have decided on Shinko 244 dual sport tires. My question is the size on the rear 410 or 460, any recommendations?

i got the 4.10 but it was too skinny for my liking and currently have a 4.60 enroute.
Also note that the tube size for the stock rear tire is too big for the Shinko, i had to order another Kenda Tuff tube (100/100-18) for the new tire, stock is a 110/100-18.

The stock 110 width is 4.33" wide, so the 4.10 is narrower, and the 4.6 is wider. The 4.6 width is specd for a 2.15 rim width, which is what the Hawk has.

Thanks for the reply. I want the tire to stay away from the chain. Have you used a 460?

I've run a 120 width tire, which is 4.72" wide with no problem.

well got my shinko 244 4.60 today and installed it. No worries on clearance issues and most definitely a smoother ride on the black top

I have the Shinko 244s on my Hawk, with the 4.60 on the back. I think it’s a good 50/50, all around tire.
