My guess is they are testing the market to see which one sells. Don't be surprised if one gets pulled after a year or two or even the RX3.

I think you're absolutely right, if only for CSC's operational scale. It makes no sense to have a supply chain for three different ADV bikes. It's a lot of work. That's maintenance procedures and technical manuals x 2 (the RX3 is already completed). RX3S has parts commonality with the RX3, so there's that, but I think CSC will be careful here. The RX4 is an ambitious bike and may turn out to be the better platform long-term. |

I'd pick the RX3s for me, and the riding I do, but I am pretty happy with my Current RX3, so not really looking for another bike right now...

I'm kinda thinking I'd wait for the chinese brand of either of them and save some bucks on what the CSC prices will probably be.

Do you think the RX3S is equal to the X300
[QUOTE=Biker_Andy;291652]I'm guessing each will be about $1,000 more then the RX3.
[\QUOTE] If the selling price for the CSC RX3S is going to be $1000 more, that would make the selling price $5195, which is almost the same as the Kawasaki Versys-X 300. I don’t believe the RX3S is equal in value to the X-300 looking at the guarantee, number of dealers, availability of service locations, horsepower, reliability, less frequent maintenance, adjustability, and availability of after market parts and accessories. Now the RX4 should be, and will be, higher in price due to all the improvements and new design and parts. And hopefully much better performance. Why would an RX3S have less new parts then an RX4?
Both bikes have entirely new engines and frames, right? Twin cylinder engines cost more to manufacture then single cylinder engines. I would be surprised if the price of the RX3S is more than $150 different than the price of the RX4. I think once the new bikes are released the price of the RX3 will drop a bit. Both new bikes have been available for sale in China for over a year.

The big competitor in this segment is actually the RE Himalayan, which has really bcome something of a success story in the BS4 derivative. Horsepower, reliability, and accessories are all unknown at this point. I can tell you whatever method is involved a valve check on a Kawi 300 is an absolute chore. Don't forget that to get the X-300 to the RX3's basic fit involves a lot more cash. |

Horsepower is listed in CSC spec. Bike was released over a year ago in China. Reliability is already known. RX3 accessories should fit and if not they are probably are available in China.

In another thread discussing the same two bikes it has been noted that CSC is not going to sell the 380 twin due to the ergonomics of the bike. High foot pegs etc. Bummer liked the lighter weight but if I would not be comfortable on it I would not like that either.
Well lets see what the 450 sells for.

$15,000?
Quote:
CSC said when they had the RX4 at the show last weekend, most “lookers” said they thought that the bike should sell for $15,000! About the same price as a BMW G1200GS? It will be interesting to see what the final market selling price will be when the RX4 is finally ready to be marketed. I like the looks and the size of the RX4 and I’ll be waiting eagerly to take it for a test ride. I’ll be visiting CSC in Azusa soon to look it over and try it on for fit. |

If you can afford a Versys LT, I would buy one. They're the best middleweight Kawasaki make. You're going to give up a bit of dirt capability though.
I note that the RX4 will have aluminium rims and a stainless steel header pipe as standard (finally!). The wheels are an interesting item; that's the first time alloy rims have been offered on a CSC bike. My guess is it all helps with the weight. |

It was built as a dirt only bike that was later made road legal... is why it has a 5 speed close ratio gear box is it's draw back for ADV bike use... .
