Disaster strikes II

Got to the bottom of it, came to drain the oil in preparation of removing the extra shims I added to the gearbox, and it's full of rubber again. As most of the bits were in the clutch side I decided that the primary drive had to come off. I made a special tool out of an old socket to remove the primary nuts. The clutch basket has a crush drive in, not surprising as there's not one in the back hub. I drilled the rivets out and this is what I found.

What the hell is that?? Were there rubber shockers on that gear? That would definately explain where your mystery parts were coming from. Looks like an easy fix though, right?? Glad you found it! Get 'r done!

Damn, a cush drive clutch, cant say as I've ever seen that! Heck, hadnt seen a cush rear wheel hub since the '70s!

Gonna go back with the stock part new? Clean up the rubber mess and TIG weld the clutch solid{my initial solution}? Try to find a non-cush Jap equivalent?

At least it's just rubber floating around the engine, not near as likely to cause any major problems, once you get it flushed out.

Make absolutely sure you have oil flow through all the passages!
