Bull 200 battery strap

Took my seat off to give it a wipe down to get some mud off of it,battery strap is gone, all's left is one buckle.Looking for a replacement.Apparently the rubber was made at the same factory that made the air filter to carburetor hose. They must be new to manufacturing rubber, lol.

Definitely not buying a Tao replacement to have it last a few months.Got to looking and found the rest of the strap down inside the battery box.So I thought I would try and make one out of an old motorcycle inner tube with rivets to hold it to the buckles.

I use a small ball bungi in place of the strap. Cut the ball off and tie the bungi to the proper length. Doesnt need the wire loops on the ends.

I thought about just using some good nylon string before the light bulb in my head lit up with the idea to just make one out of an old inner tube.

I reckon the rivets will hold it after being stretched.I should have maybe used a longer rivet so I could use those 1/8" rivet washers on both sides instead of just one side.

It's on there, should have made it just a little shorter so it could be a little tighter.

I was in a hurry when I got it to get it put together and see if it was going to run.I need to get a rubber grommet and run those battery wires up thru the body where they should be along with the fuse holder. The fuse holder should be where I have the battery strap attached in the above photo.
