Vin Not Decoding?

Don't know if this is the right thread or not, but I recently bought a pit bike from my buddy. Its pretty fun, but I wanted to be able to buy parts for it so I went to see what it was with the VIN, and nothing popped up. I have to use a chinese vin decoder and even then it only tells me the manufacturer and nothing else. Anyone else ever ran into something like this?

That's pretty common, if you can figure out the manufacturer, that's generally as much info as you'll get from the VIN, unless the manufacturer has published additional info for their models, like VIN ranges, etc.

What manufacturer came up? Also, the engines are generally universal to one of three brands most of the time: Zongshen, Lifan, and Loncin. There is usually a number engraved somewhere on the engine (like on one of the cooling fans) which has a hint at who manufactured it.
