Welcome aboard! The Hawk is a pretty good bike. My 2016 has been a very reliable bike to me. Just be prepared to do a little wrenching and mods to make it a good bike. But now if you have the extra money I would go with the Lifan KPX250. The bike is ready to run right out the box without having to spend any extra time or money to make it street worthy. It's a true 250cc counter balanced engine with EFI and a 6 speed transmission. Out the box it will run 75+ mph without touching anything and will do it safely and comfortably. The EFI will adjust to elevation changes and the Carb engine will need to be rejetted if there are drastic elevation changes.

My Hawk on the other hand I had to do some engine mods, sprocket swapping, and tuning of the carb to break 70mph. At those speeds the Hawk is not a safe comfortable speed. It will get squirrely 65mph and above. If you are just using for trail riding, back road riding and like to wrench and tinker around then the Hawk is the bike. Also before buying make sure you can get it registered and Tagged in your state as the Hawk is not EPA approved for street use.

welcome. what are your needs for riding? Hawk is good for having some fun on. if you want more mileage/quality, I suggest borrowing Jerry's KPX250.

Tbone, Another bike to look at (bikes) are the Bashan Storm, Brozz, and Recon.
Storm has the counterbalanced version of the engine that's in the Hawk. It also has a nice luggage rack and inverted front forks. Lots of bike for the money. I got one a couple of years ago, and it has been great. Just google Bashan Storm. Peace sports (Jeff) has the Recon and Brozz. Lots of these bikes here on this forum. ~1700-1800 dollars plus shipping for the Storm.
