Gpx adv140/190r

I haven't been paying much attention to the GPX lineup of bikes lately, but I stumbled into this interesting little machine.
https://gpxmoto.com/index.php?route=...uct_id=1253258

It's basically an ADV Grom/knock-off, but it comes with the option of an 18hp 190cc engine and 5 speed transmission, and both versions have 1.5 to 2 more inches of suspension travel than a Grom.

THe 190cc version is about $1000 less than a new Grom, so there is some savings there.

I think the only catch is that it isn't a 50 state legal bike, so it is a lot like the Hawk in terms of registration.

I was looking at that one a while back. Not that i would personally want one but for the guys that do i would buy that one over all the other grom clones. It's worth the extra money.

That 190 looks really nice. They say it has 18HP -- if so it would definitely be peppy.

I expect that we will be seeing a lot of those 190cc bikes riding on the back bumpers of RVs.
-it really does look a lot like an Aprilia Dorsoduro

Honestly, if I lived somewhere that would register it, I would buy it over a Grom. Sure, it won't ever be Honda quality, and it doesn't have the EFI, but I could live with that. Most Grom owners do engine swaps or big bore kits to their bike, or I have seen quite a few that put off road tires on their bikes. This already has all of that done.

I obviously am not much of a Grom fan, but a part of me considered getting one just for the laughs. This bike is kind of tempting lol.

Not only does that motor have 18hp, but it also has an extra gear over the 140 version and a Grom. It's definitely highway speed capable.

Even better than that, you can get a 212cc big bore kit for it for 180 bucks.

I like that they put the exhaust up high, and combined with the slightly raised suspension, this bike COULD theoretically do some ADV riding. Believe it or not, thos bike is CARB Red Sticker (legal to ride off-road in California for certain times of the year).

I like the exhaust position as well, and that it comes with a skid plate to protect the starter and the head from a direct ground impact.

I would personally consider this more of a Grom-like Motard than I would an "ADV" bike, but at the end of the day it is kind of both and neither. It would also make a good around town bike. It has a 32 inch seat height, which makes it taller than many larger bikes on the market.

I also noticed that it looks to have a built in oil cooler.

As far as the CARB red sticker, that is surprising. I wonder if it will be somewhat easier to register in other states then.
