Doh! 2020TT250 not idling

I’m having trouble getting my bike to idle. It drives fine but I have to nurse the throttle to keep it alive or it will drop and die out at any rpm’s below 2k. I tried putting on a NIBBI pe30 but that caused it to idle at around 4k and tuning it made no difference. I am a bit lost and would appreciate any tips

Go back to the stock carb. It sounds like you simply need to adjust the idle mixture to solve your issue.

I ended up doing that earlier today since the new intake I ordered for the Nibbi didn’t bolt on flush, as well as the jet kit I got was wrong. I will try tuning the idle mixture and update. It’s just in an impossible spot to get to with mounted so I’ll have to pull it off. I am about 105ft above sea level, what would you recommend for jetting

Oh, trust me, I am well versed in the art of PZ30/VM26 clone idle mixture screws. There is a special tool you can buy, but it costs about the same as that Nibbi. You can also order thumb screw style adjusters, which at least give you the ability to turn it without unbolting the intake every single time.

If you can access it, I assume that means you uncapped it? The TT250 idle mixture has a cap covering the screw so people can't adjust it (EPA bullcrap). If yes, what have you tried up to this point?

As far as what to set it to. The normal starting point is 1 1/2 turns out from lightly seated. Since it is a fuel screw, more turns out - richer, less - leaner.

If you do have it uncapped, remove it and take a picture of it for me. I bet I can find you the right thumb screw. Hell, I might already have one I could just mail to you.

I was also looking for this thumb screw for the idle on the side for my TT250. It'd be nice to just tweak that during cold start ups and then turn it back down once it's warmed up. I've seen threads here, but not finding it in search at the moment...

I rarely ever touch the mixture screw once it is set. It juat makes finding that set point so much easier. They are easy to find, if you can find the right one for the carb you have. My t"Foinf Hawk Things" thread has a post showing what I mean by that lol
