I wanted the v-twin Asscot a while back, but I never could find one for the right price/condition.

That's my daily commuter-the 1984 VT500 Ascot.

The reason for the dual exhaust ports is simply that the engine is an exact copy of a Suzuki GN250. The GN250 is a standard, sold in Europe/Australia/Asia from about 1980-1995. It's still built in China, and most manufacturers copy the engine.

The engine in a modified form is used in the Suzuki GZ250, still with single valve and dual ports.

The good news is that quite a few parts from Suzuki GN/GZ250s will work.

The engine makes 22 hp.

Thanks. Good to know. I sold the bike to a friend who is just starting out. I'll continue to maintain it for him. I hope it's going to be a good bike.

Is the Honda also OHV?
