New Zongshen Sierra 200, Utah Registration Issues
Hello all, I'm in the process of trying to legalize my new Zongshen for street use, and I'm having difficulty. I went to the local courthouse and found that to register my bike, I will need the title; the seller claimed he couldn't find it. I pressed her about getting a replacement title but she seemed pretty sure it wasn't possible without some sort of proof of ownership beyond the sales agreement I got from the seller. I mentioned that he may have imported the bike himself, and if that be the case I would also need customs papers from the guy. I left a message on his phone earlier today, he was supposed to contact me today and hasn't yet. My fingers are crossed.
Case in point, any advice regarding obtaining a new title and registration in Utah or nearby states would be deeply appreciated. Sincerly, -Cameron P. P.S. To the best of my knowledge, bonded titles are not available in Utah. Thanks for the tip katoranger. |

Did the seller advertise it as street ready and legal? If they had a title, but lost it they should be able to get a duplicate with their ID.
http://dmv.utah.gov/buyingresponsibilities.html Gives the steps for a duplicate title. If it was never titled and they are not the original importers/owner and don't have any paperwork you may be out of luck. Allen |
