Found a speedometer gear drive on Amazon that fit and it works. $9.95 including shipping. Belmont wanted about $80 for it. Nice to have the speedo working again.

All the toys are running just fine, knock on wood!
Have a urge to get a Vespa scooter so some must go except the Jeep as the grandkids would not be happy if it left.

New seat height?

Barnone, the DF250RTG looks great with the new seat! Can you tell me the current seat height? My wife rides my 74 DT 175, but has to tip-toe it's 34" seat and dreads kicking it over if it stalls in city traffic. I've been looking for a base UJM style small/lite bike with electric start and low seat for a scrambler or brat style bike for her...and preferably with disk brake(s)! Seams like you have had little trouble with this outside of the broken spokes and basic maintenance? Thanks for your input and this thread....very little owner info/experience that I could find out there. If you do a YouTube video of it, it would be the first!

Thanks,
Chris

The seat height is roughly 28". I am 5'8 with a 31" inseam and could flat foot both legs with a bend in my knees. My wife is 5'4 and could flat foot that bike.

I was at CSC's dealership/headquarters a few weeks ago. They have a version of the bike called the San Gabriel 250. I am 5' 7" and could flat foot it with a bend in my knee as well. I don't have Napoleon complex, but being used to dual-sports, the bike felt small to me. I could get used to it, don't get me wrong, but being a single, the bike was very little in feeling as compared to many bikes I have sat on at dealerships with short seat height such as Harleys and metric cruisers. I have sat on Vader 125s, and the SG felt smaller than even that. I think the RTG would make for a very good learner bike--if they or the CSC SG were reliable enough for motorcycle schools, they should consider adding them into their lineup for shorter people with no motorcycle experience.

San Gabriel 250 is a nice looking bike.
https://store.cscmotorcycles.com/202...sg250-2020.htm
Price
$2,695.00
Not that it matters but it has the pushrod engine like my previously owned Dong Fangs.
Either engine is good if not butchered up by mods.

Hello guys, Im a new guy here and soon a new rider in a month or two. I specifically have question for only Barnone.
Mr.Barnone, soon I will purchase the DF250RTG in a red color, can you tell me the current miles on your DF250RTG, and how well has she served you on reliability?
I will be buying this bike off of Vennom Motorsports, I am really tempted to spend a little extra on 3 years warranty but do you think it will be worth it or should I stick with the stock price and 1 year warranty to save some money?

I will be the first person on youtube to make motovlogs obout this motorcycle, there are so many answers people ask about the DF250RTG but nothing can be found but on here Chinariders, and I will answer them on my youtube channel while bringing people on the adventures with me on the DF250RTG. I first seen this bike a year ago but had my eyes on the DF250RTR..... over time I have fallen in love with the DF250RTG and had fallen away from the DF250RTR.

I really want to risk Buying this motorcycle for me personally as my first real motorcycle, but i have a few doubts because its a Chinese made but that doesn't mean any thing. CSC makes really good bikes and they are made in china as well lifian bikes.

I cant wait to be the first to bring people on the adventures with me on the DF250RTG, From day one unboxing, from the first time on the road on a motorcycle and so on till she breaks. I want to do this to help people trust the bike if she is road worthy or not.
But before I purchase this bike really soon, I need some answers from someone experienced on the DF250RTG.

I do understand that the SPOKES AND SPEEDO GEAR IS A TOP PRIORITY TO BE REPLACED BEFORE I TAKE IT ON THE ROAD!!

Tell me, How fun is she and what kind of joy does she have and can i trust her? This bike realy has my eyes glued to it. Thank You Barnone! Also one more thing, What size spokes do I need for the DF250RTG? I don't need those to break on me after the first 1,500 miles.

Uh oh, now there is a new bike in the way I'm going for. Now it TU250x vs DF250RTG, I don't know which bike I want..... Slowly falling for TU250x, little more speed and power and reliability. Idk, I just cant trust the DF250RTG. I might end up getting the suzuki.

KyzoSoupz,
I have both the TU250X and the DF250RTG. No doubt the TU is a better motorcycle.
EDIT
The TU is kinda boring because it never breaks as long you don't do ill advised mods to it like some people do. Mine is stock as the day it was built except for a rear rack.

I would hold off on the 16 tooth until you have ridden the TU for a while.
