Thanx I'll contact them about the jets. Anyone ever done a big-bore on these motors? Want to make it a 250 if it is possible.

That's a good idea!

HB, do you know of a raised 69mm piston? I have a CB200 with a very short stroke, and I'd like to combine the 69mm piston with a long stroke (that I believe to be 66mm) to achieve 247cc. A raised piston would increase the power even more.

Any thoughts?

Did some work on the bike after I finished my studies. What I did was took the air box of to replace it with a pod filter. That made be realise the battery box is busted and the battery I have is to big for is as well. Then I found the right NGK sparkplug for the bike(old one looked bad and only had done 4200km) and replaced that so one thing less to worry about. Now all I need is a way to mount the back mudguard. It was connected to the battery box so that a bit of a problem. Took some pics of the bike as I was working.

Forget the long stroke if possible ,too time consuming finding & fitting . Zongshen uses 17mm pin in their redesigned CB family. ANY 15mm pin (as Honda) & >65.5mm is non-std in PRC .

Water cool CB250-A http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=25090988818 fits the stock.

I already have the crankshaft and the piston, but the rod is the wrong length. I might be able to use the rod from the stock crank.

Either that, or I'll just buy a CB223 upgrade kit.

I rotated your pic for you.

Can you fabricate a new battery box, so you can use the pod filter?

Thanx for the pic. Sorry didn't have a lot of time when I posted it. Yes pod just goes straight on the carb no probs with that. Was thinking of just glueing the old box and replacing the battery with a other one I have at my dads place. Only prob is now the back mudflap but I'll see what I can do about that. Does anyone no of any good replacement handlebars? Myne are bent to hell and back.

I think gluing and trimming the existing box so it becomes just a battery holder is a good plan.

Maybe you can help to support the fender with some black zip ties around the frame.

What size are your bars at the clamp?

HB, do those risers adapt the bars from 7/8" to 1-1/8"?

Firstly thank you for all the info. Should really tell you guys I have had 2 bikes before a Suzuki gs 500 and a Honda cx 500 but both were 100%. This bike I got from a friend in a really messed upstate. Back tyre is shot. Has no brake fluid. No chain ,busted airbox ,Alarm battery not a bike one ,handle bars there just not straight busted throttle cable and that about it that i know is wrong with it.
Now i found the cdi (I think) and its looking very weird to me. Ill load up the pics so you guys can see and tell me if its just me. When i got the bike it started but didn't idle and the choke had no effect at all. If its the wrong place to post this please tell me im still really new to the fourm.
