Diesel is about 30% cheaper than gas here...
BUT
you have to buy road mileage if you are useing it to power a car/truck etc
on the road...

Ford is holding out on us. I think GM, Nissan, and Toyota will have a smaller diesel soon.

As for the road mileage they have something similar in the US. Off-road diesel can be purchase without the road tax portion. This is for tractors and equipment not driven on the streets. Usually purchased in bulk and delivered to farms. Road diesel is taxed more.

I started driving diesel when it was cheaper, really upsets me that it's more now. Paid $4.10 the other day when regular is under $3.50. Heck, premium is cheaper than diesel. I have seen a Suzuki Samurai with VW TDI transplant. Saw a video online where someone transplanted a 10 horse single cylinder diesel into a mini bike. Would love the torque on a bike.

I saw a VW TDI in a Samurai tin-top, and it was on Extreme 4X4 a few years ago. They even had a separate heated tank for vegetable oil. I really enjoyed that build.

Chris, what year is the Powerstroke? Is it the 6.0l?

well, for those of us with unlimited funds, there are a number of options:

http://www.enfield-diesel.com/ this site is in German, but the table of specs makes sense
