Glad you mentioned this.
I wanted to ask about these type of spares.
Do you have opinions or facts on which type is better.
The fully potted plastic cdi box with molded connection. Or the finned aluminum type with the connector pigtail wire?

I was in a similar situation as you when I started looking at a China bike. I decided to go with a Hawk because it has a gravity fed carb (you will know it has fuel when troubleshooting) and it seems to be the most documented in the community. I also ride solo in a hot climate and it has not left me stranded. If I had to do it all over again, I would make the same decision.
