Getting back to the subject of the video, I got the "jeepers" watching Kohl squeeze around that truck at the 2:00 mark in the video! 8O

I'm not saying its worth it for me either. I'm not much for electronics. But it sure seems to be a good product. I'm sure the prices will come down and then the Chinese will clone them! 8)

I bought a small camera mount on eBay that fits 7/8" bars. I'm hoping to capture a little video when Son of Weldangrind and I go riding.

The intersection at the 3:10 mark really frightened me! 8O It's obvious you really should have a dual sport bike to negotiate the side streets! I wouldn't want to ride with a street suspension, or street tires, on some of those steets!

I guess you could call them streets. To me, they looked like randomly poured lumps of concrete.

Haiti is not known for its infrastructure.

Sure looks interesting though doesn't it?

Thanks for watching everybody!

Indeed, Haiti is not known for its infrastructure. Still, every morning, I am pleasantly surprised to see how normal life can be. Tired parents dragging their perfectly dressed children to school carrying pink lunch boxes, police officers directing traffic. It just goes to show that the potential is here, it just needs a little organizing, and maybe some better roads.

Yeah, I always thought lane splitting wasn't for me, until I came here. Its sort of a rule, if you don't take the gap, then the moto guy behind you will get pissed. Luckily, unlike California, traffic doesn't get up to speed here and most cars aren't going very fast. Therefore its to your advantage as a moto to go faster than they are, and stay out of their way. There aren't many rules for cars here, and even fewer for motos. They are treated like bicycles basically, so every man for himself.

There are all sorts of tricks you pick up, like looking through the windows of the cars in front of you to see if something is coming around the corner. Or staying wide in a lane so cars that might be coming can see you and get over.

Yes, the camera is a GoPro HD 2. The quality is superb. It looks about 75% better before I exported it for the internet too.

Oh, and the music. Its in Haitian Creole, which is largely based off of french. That's why it sounds like French, but with a different accent. The grammar is much different too. The Artist is Wanito and he is very popular down here. I must admit, I'm a pretty big fan myself.

Again, thanks for watching!

kohl

Damn! Tarmac surface on the "main" streets seem better than what we have here. At least there aren't potholes, patches or sewer lids above or below the tarmac level.

Otherwise traffic flow seems familiar to me. I think lane splitting is illegal here, but am not sure, plus all motorcyclists do it (including me). Again, damn - Bulgaria is "quite" a place apparently... not in a good sense.

I should mention, I think even the 200cc bike is too big for Port-Au-Prince's roads! 8O It seems like the Skyteam DAX replica in 125cc form would fit in perfectly. Do they sell them there?

Or maybe one of these?
