I have a 22hp briggs in the shop too. I think that you could convert it to run horizontal.

Just ordered the seal and a case gasket. Not sure if I will have to split the case to replace that seal or not. Hopefully not.

Since that was on hold I mowed with the dixon. Found two broken wires at the rectifier that I repaired. Maybe the battery will stay charged now.

Then I used the Ford tractor to move all the trailers and drag some logs to the burn area. After that I replace the transmission assembly on my snapper. Had a spare on the shelf.
I think a gear broke inside the old one. Was (ab)using it last fall in the garden. Fixed it today and took it straight into the woods to mow some go kart trails. New transmission worked flawlessly. Took 40 minutes to swap them.

Who are "they?" The previous owners of the Ford?

"They" are my typo. Should have been "Then".

Ah. Makes much more sense that way.

The other mower broke down tonight. Sprocket stripped. Hopefully the local Dixon dealer will have some of them.

Parts came today. Looks like I can replace that seal without cracking the case. Might be able to get this mower operational soon.

Awesome find. The Kawasaki motors are hard to beat. I have the 24 hp V twin and it's a BEAST. Good luck and hopefully it will be running soon. The zero-turn mowers are really cool..........and fun to drive.

I am hoping to have it up and running on Monday. Will have plenty of tall grass to test it out on. Zero turns are the only way to go with big yards.

I had a commercial Toro zero turn back at my old yard. They are fun but a lot to take care of. Now I have this little push mower and a half an acre. Time to call the landscaper again. No room for a riding mower in garage.

You do have room for a lovely shed in your yard. That would certainly house a riding mower, and perhaps a few more bikes.

Exmark and Toro actually share some models. The Toro version got the cheaper deck. They can be alot of work, but I am going to be into this one for less than a cheap rider from walmart. Street value on it is about $2000 in ready to go fashion.

What I can't get with a rider I use the string trimmer on.

I may build a shop, Weld. Many of my neighbors have nice shops.

I'm too cheap for now though. I always figure I'm moving back to California someday so why spend $ on an interim home.

On the other hand I'll be here for probably many years so I don't know.

A shed is cheap (by comparison) and even portable. Costco has decent sheds that are some composite material. I bet they'd last a long time, and they're quite spacious.

We get them delivered at work. Come on a rollback. They just slide them off where you want them. Level them and gone again.
