The cover that came off is what you'd remove to turn the engine over by hand (think of it as a plug). The nut that you see is part of the stator assembly (not the clutch), and it is directly connected to the crankshaft. If you were to adjust the valves, for example, you'd need a means to turn the engine over to top dead center (TDC), and that's what this hole provides access for. The clutch is on the other side.

You can probably buy the cover from your local Honda dealer. If not, then you'll likely only be able to replace the entire side cover from a Chinese bike dealer. Either way, it's not likely to cost much.

Should be a pretty standard thread, Look at some bike shops or maybe if You have a local scrap yard for bikes.....Or maybe contact Katoranger he has all kinds of stuff sitting around.

perhaps one from a similar size Honda could be aquired pretty easily?

I looked online and they were charging about $2 for the cover and about $10 to ship it. I will check with my local honda dealer or parts store.
