I wasn't recommending the name, just sharing.

I'm quite surprised about the resistor pack. Sorry for steering you in the wrong direction.

Cool air filter.

Is it a Silverado or a Cheyenne?

That's a lot of snow for East Kansas.

I think its a silverado trim, but not sure. All the badging is gone. I told the kid that I would trade him that filter for the stock airbox back. Gravel road dust is not the filtered very well by those.

We got about 2 inches of snow Sunday night. Expecting alittle more tonight. I may get some better tires sooner than later and save these for trailers.

I suspected the resistor too. Fan switch was only $15.

I agree, the stock box is a good idea for dusty roads.

Taking it to work today. Will be gone for training so it can sit in the parking lot. Hopefully the heater works.

Maintenance guy thinks he has a set of wheels and tires that will fit. That will save a few dollars.

I am wondering how hard it is to install a locking differential. This thing has no traction. Mostly due to bad tires.

Bad tires and no weight. Son of Weldangrind has some large tractor tube sections that are filled with sand and clamped shut with plywood strips. He places those over the axle, and he has decent traction. That's with $75 Goodyear Wranglers from Walmart.

We don't much snow usually. This winter total of 2 snows that maybe accumulated 4 inches and lasted a day. I can just not drive.

We don't often get snow, but when we do, it is really wet and slippery. Weight is mandatory.

Swapped for the factory airbox and picked up a load of goat fence. Blower fan switch should arrive soon. I can then further diagnose the HVAC in the truck.

New fan switch installed. Still only high. I am going to put the new resistor back in. If not that then it must be the whole control board.

Odd. Perhaps both items were bad.

I was thinking the same thing. I took the resistor back out. Will put it back in tonight and see if I get all the fan speeds. I believe the whole control board may be on its last legs. Got a replacement coming. If the resistor fixes it then I can just put it on the spare parts shelf.

Stay tuned for another episode of "This old truck".
