Chain, exhaust, sprockets, more.
I was thinking about it and may go with a rat rod theme. I may already have an exhaust and some of the parts from my cl70 may fit. I plan to part it out to fund this one. Parts are not so easy to come by for it. Goal. Turn this into a street only cruiser/commuter. Stock is not necessary. 125cc engine will be big enough. I don't think I will need any more than than. Hoping for 50mph. |

So some more pics. It has a plastic tank. Should mean no rust. That is plus. Will need a complete seat. Will use a UNI filter and a sock. Engine is stuck. Shocks are bent, sprocket is shout, chain is one piece, tires are done, fender is bent, no taillight. Custom forks for improved steering response. . Racing slick no fender. No lights, no speedo. I have push it to the back for now. Actually I used a handtruck. Going to have to wait. I want to get the XR done first, but I may work alittle on this to get it into the next stage. |

Ahh right on, mine has the metal tank, luckily it looks not too bad. Now that I've got mine registered I will probably work on it a bit more (winter project), just have to finish up the 350.
Your's is in rougher shape, but for $15 it's hard to go too far wrong

I can recoup my money back. No loss there. I already have a rear sprocket and I think some of the parts are the same as the CL70. It has the headlight and speedo assembly.
Just put an ad on craigslist for parts and a 125cc pitbike for a donar. Going to try on get this together as cheap as possible. Reliability is important. I want to be able to kick and go. |

fill it top and bottom with diesel or kerosene and let her sit awhile,,, did this with a old polaris sled that sat outside for 10 years and with some careful tapping and turning it broke free and ran for many years.

My favorite part about YOUR project is that it make MY project look easy! :P
You'll get her done, and do a great job. I'd back burner it, pile up the parts you need, and do the XR first. Get that done before I forget how I put mine together in the first place. :?

LOVE the rat rod idea. I'm visualizing a flat black frame, the www tires you showed us and a little bit of discreet red pinstriping. What would really cap it off is a white tuck 'n roll seatcover. Know anybody who can do upholstery?

Will take the next few months to accumulate parts. Hopefully a pitbike donar will show up in that time. For the seat. I found new china ones for $50, but my Father in law does upholstery so a custom seat is not out of the question. If anyone needs a seat done just let me know. He will get it done, but just not in a hurry. |

Stay on your Father in law's good side.
Can you use the original seat pan as a template to fabricate a new one? You could then hand the new pan to your FIL for upholstery. Can he do tuck and roll?

I take back what I said about white tuck and roll. See if your FIL can do this with the white piping: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...#ht_1126wt_939
Jim, those seats are really cool.
