Right now I still have the stock sprockets. I plan on going either 15/40 or 17/45 very soon though. Thanks again.

Either of those are good combos and will give you better highway speed. If that chain continues to be an issue, this JT X-ring chain has 134 links and should not end up too tight on those sprockets. You'll likely have to remove a few links before installing...

Also check the part that keeps the chain in line. It could be pushing the chain as you drive. That's what mine is doing.

Just got a 2020 tbr7,same issue the chain is tight as a drum and the wheel is full forward. Never been rode. Chain has 428H stamped in it? If I removed the rubber chain guide I will gain some slack, maybe enough to ride and stretch the new chain then reinstall the rubber but IDK. Any thoughts?

I'm not that familiar with these bikes, but pictures would certainly help. Most bikes have a frame mounted roller under the swing arm right near where it pivots at the frame. The chain has to go over this roller and not under it. Other than that, I find it interesting that other people with the same bike and same length of chain are not having the same problem with slack. Most bikes just have that roller, a lower chain guide just upstream of the sprocket and maybe a roller a few inches above the chain on the frame. That upper roller and the little plastic chain guard on the top of the swing arm should have no bearing on chain tension at all.

This is an older thread, but I'm having the same issue on my new Hawk 250. The bike does not have any chain rollers -- here's the thread.
