Only on injection systems is fuel pumped through "jets".

When the level in the float bowl drops, the fuel valve(needle) opens up, the fuel pump will push fuel into the bowl, and to a small degree through the carb passages. This keeps any debris stired up in the carb bowl and it can be pushed or sucked into the carb passages.

And how does that differ from gravity fed?
Hint: it doesn't

Because there is pressure in the fuel system and carb bowl.

I have this installed in my hawk on the tiny fuel line. Works great:

Visu-Filter 90 Degree Clear Screen Fuel Filter - Large - 3/16" - 1/4" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0GW4Q9..._n1CIkGqyv4s13

edit: I was having a hard time keeping the fuel line from kinking with a straight filter, so that's why there's a 90 degree bend in mine.

There is no pressure, other than atmospheric in the float bowl, or on/in the jets. That is why there is a needle and seat, and a float in the float bowl. The float bowl is there to make sure there is no pressure on the fuel and in the jets. The jets respond to the partial vacuum created by the airstream going through the venturi. Atmospheric pressure is reduced by the Bernouli Principle, allowing fuel in the float bowl to go up through the jets. That is why the float bowl is vented to atmosphere...ARH
