I was thinking the same thing when I looked up what those pinch bolts were and noticed the hawk doesn’t have them. Next time I adjust my chain I’ll try 35ft-lbs but honestly that doesn’t seem like it’ll keep my chain adjusted. I’ll test it out this weekend.

get this arh! alabama years ago decided it was going to the metric system. they installed km post on the interstate system!! they didnt take down the mile markers so you can imagine the confusion the ambulance drivers were having so they removed the km markers!! makes a lot of sense doesnt it. either system is ok. the metric is simpler. trouble is when you mix the two.

Mine hasn't moved once when set at that torque spec. If you want some peace of mind, set the rear axle torque and mark the bolt and nut with a line using a grease pen or paint marker that wont come off easily. This will let you keep track of the nut backing off. I use a white paint marker on all of my critical fasteners, just two marks that line up on the edge of the fastener and the bolt or bracket. Makes for quick and easy visual checks.

The only thing more inaccurate than a China Bike owners manual is the website you bought it from... ;-)

It lists Front axle pinch bolt torque.., These bikes don't have front axle pinch bolts. That immediately tells me that those figures are just pulled from some random source.

Case in point, it also says a 10A main fuse yet the glass fuse I pulled from my bike was a 15A. So either their book is right and they installed whatever they had on hand, which in this case would be dangerous, or the book is wrong.

I simply Trust CSC a lot more than the poorly translated chinglish manual handed out with these bikes with about as much care as they are put together.
The specs in that pic are fine and generic.
It may not be true from the Hawk but specs are generic enough to be Ok
