I didn't realize you were using such high tire pressures, Kat. As a general rule, I use 26 psi, plus or minus 2 psi, in both tires, on all my motorcycles. In other words, I inflate the tire to 28 psi, and I add more air when the tire drops to 24 psi.

I noticed that the vent tube was referenced, and a comment was made that a teaspoon of gasoline collects in the tube.

I confess, I uttered a few bad words, and I gasped several times. I can see occasional lane splitting, but not at 90km/h!

That was his presumption, but I'm sure he didn't test it.

If he keeps riding in that manner, it's only a matter of time before he is either seriously injured, or killed.

A solid answer about the quality of the bike.

Yeah, I only had the pressures sticker on the swinging arm to go by.
I should of gone with my gut feeling and ignored this and used typical pressures similar to the ones you use.

I was going to ask that very question, George. Thanks for your input on the video.

Just finished reading the chinamotor review, found it quite interesting, now what seriously got my attention was the last bit, is it true that a 450 RX3 is on the works? because that would definitely be the only bike I'd need.

Also on a side note, does any1 have idea on what's the weight of the aluminum cases plus mounting hardware? need to run some numbers to see if its viable to buy a set on taobao

Other than rumors, I don't have any knowledge of a 450cc RX3 being developed. If such a bike is actually being developed, I don't think we will see it being manufactured very soon.

I'm sure the shipping costs for the aluminum panniers would be quite high. I think it is probably best to purchase the Tourfella luggage from CSC. Besides the comparable cost, the items will arrive faster from CSC, and you will be covered regarding shipping damage, and defective merchandise. Trying to file a claim with Taobao would be much more difficult, if not impossible.

Besides the Tourfella luggage, you can also purchase Tusk panniers in two different sizes. One could purchase the luggage racks from Taobao to mount these panniers, or other panniers.

so...this is going to be an all day affair for someone new to bike maintenance? good thing its getting cooler! Now if I can just figure out what invisible bugs keep trying to eat me alive in my garage whenver I'm doing work on the motorcycles i'll be set! Well...I still have a couple hundred miles to go before my first valve check...(500 mi if I remember right) but now that cooler weather is here, that should go by quickly, I hope

that's where my problem is, thing is I'd need the cases delivered to Colombia, so with an USD800 price from CSC plus shipping to colombia, plus import taxes and stuff it would end way north of USD1100 (or more), and Taobao has the full set for ~USD450, I checked locally and there are no (decent) luggage options available yet =(

just made a quick check on TBtrends and the approximate shipping value is over USD650 (for a guess of around 35lbs), so it's a no go, will have to wait until there are locally available luggage options

LordRad,

Have you considered paying a local fabricator to weld together a pannier frame?

You could then just purchase a pair of Pelican cases to attach in the same manner the Tourfella's attach to their frame.

You could re-create the Tourfella mounting pucks easily enough.

Might be your least costly option.

Cheers,

Dan K.
