Is this the correct headlight bulb for alot of our bikes. Looks to be the one that I have. It fits the UFO universal headlights and also looks like 70s vintage snowmobiles.

They also have them in 45w

I am going to order a couple and find out.

Yes that looks like the BA20D type bulb that most of ours come with. Your standard bulb is 35W, I would go with the 45W. That's what I replaced mine with.

Thanks for the new link, I will add it.

I didn't think to look for the 45w before I had already order two 35w bulbs so that I will have a spare on hand.

They had a 60w too. At least they are cheap. I will let everyone know if they fit when it comes in.

Update. Got the bulb from denniskirk and it fits the socket fine. I have to slightly bend one of the tabs to get in to twist into place, but it may just be my socket.

Update. The denniskirk bulb is still working fine and has outlasted the stock bulb by 4 times as long now.

How about some 50 watt turn signals?? Cheaper and brighter than LED bulbs too.

Do you mean as a replacement for the headlight or as a replacement for all the turn signals?

Turn singnals. I'm getting complaints that my turn signals are barely visible in the sun (they look pretty bright at night) so I'm going to order 2 sets of these 50watt lights.
BTW my Lifan takes 1155 or 1156 bulbs for the turn signals (same base but the 1156 is higher wattage than the 1155.. 1155's are stock). I think the 1155 is either a 5w or 10w bulb.
The highest ratedLED bulbs I could find claim to be equivilant to 27w output, but they were close to $80 a pair, which is nuts, one resistor, 10 led's and a scavanged base = maybe $1.50. I was going to make my own using Luxeon led's until I spotted these bulbs.

knothead,

I put some of these "MOTO LED Flasher Type 602" from Wheeling Cycle Supply.

http://www.wheelingcyclesupply.com/s...gory&cat_id=72 'at the bottom of page'

I think they are bright and a great price.

The taillight I might be interested in, but the blinkers.... eh, it still works out to $70 to do both ends and it still wouldn't equal the 50w output of the bulbs above (it's all about being visible, right?). Actually I found 50w replacement bulbs for $3 each, I'd have to solder it into an 1155 base but it would work just as well.

50w will be alot of draw on the battery and stator. That is 100w total per side and they will blink really fast if at all.

I remembered that I had a pair of 50w foglights in the shed. I ran jumpers from the bike's turn signal leads to the lights, they work fine and are very bright. The problem is the stock wiring is too small and gets warm. I was hoping that since the blinkers are intermittent heat wouldn't be a problem. It might be fine, but I don't want to push it.

I had the D8RTC Torch plug stock on my bike. I have used the Iridium-NGK-DR8EIX and it worked well but very hard to read because of it's size. I bought an NGK-BPR5HS but this plug doesn't fit. It's much bigger. I'm new but I don't think I'm mistaken, maybe the BPR5HS should be removed from this list. None of the plugs are in bold so maybe there is no suggested plug. I will try the AC and the champion and let you know. Mike/
