Is that a real song or my life story? I think it needs more cow bell bottoms, knee high tube socks, tiny shorts and a splash of polyester shirts. I almost forgot the banana comb in the back pocket.

We are getting way off topic but it's fun. My friend was born in March 1968 and I was born in November 1967. I know that the picture is from after 1975 but he had three older brothers and one younger brother and explains the shoes. I didn't get hand me downs because I have five older sisters.

Oh come on now. You know you have worn one of their dresses.

I'm so thankful that I am an only child.

The new style Coleman mini is being sold at my closest TSC for $699.99. They never sold the old style CT200U with the racks. They used to sale the Baja Designs Mini for $699.99 but they would go on sale occasionally for $599.99. One went on clearance for $399.99. I should have scooped it up.

Now that is COOL! Looks like fun is being had! You just started his riding career, for sure.
I also see your lawn looks just like mine! LOL!

Those pics made my day. Change it to an open faced helmet, and that was me in the '70's.

Helmet? You had a helmet??? lol My brother and I had built our 1st mini bike from and old frame someone had given us and we scraped our money together and had our oldest brother drive us to Sears and picked up a 5hp Briggs. Of course we disabled the governor and had the throttle direct to the carb and put a smaller sprocket on the rear. Man it was fast. We would piss our cousin off when we pass him on his Honda mini trail 70. There were two of those Colman mini bikes out at the spillway on Sunday. Those two boys ( about 9 to 12 year olds) were having a blast on the trails. Family stuff is always fun stuff.

Man....REALLY thinking about the CT200U just as a neighborhood run-around. Mrs. 2LZ would not be happy..... I better start building some credit chips.

Good job DH!!! That is a happy boy right there for sure. A lot of character building comes from having your 1st motorcycle. He'll learn a lot

Weld a good neighbor who is probably in his late 50's stopped his truck in the middle of the street while I was taking those pics and said, "Hey! I wanted on of those as a kid!!!" lol. My son is learning a lot on his little bike and getting involved in the maintenance will be a good time I think.

2LZ gotta love the dirt backyards! I wouldn't mind getting the ct200 for camping trips. It would be a really easy bike for family without riding experience to pick up and learn on without the anxiety of a real "motorcycle".

I used to stare at the Sears catalog looking at mini bikes and go carts when I was kid in the 70's. Every week I thought I could win the money prize in the local newspaper cross word puzzle but that didn't happen. They gave you a list of words to choose from and next week they told you the answers. I still think it was rigged...

I know I sure did. I think most every one of us here that are within a certain age bracket all had the same wishes and dreams and that lust for minibikes got us to where we are today.
We used to find minibikes in the back of most every catalog and magazine including Boys Life. ANYTHING that a young boy would almost die to have was in the back of that magazine.

The "jones" got really bad when four of the neighbor kids got them. One had a Cat (orange), two of them had the blue Bonanza's and one kid had the Cadillac. The Heathkit (blue and white) with the fat back tire and a two speed transmission! I remember running out on the porch when he went by (older kid, of course) and thought it was sooooooooooo cool when he shifted! My mom later admitted that her heart used to sink when the boys would ride by on their minibikes and my brother and I were peddling our butts off trying to keep up.

Good memories............
